Seven Trees. In the very last days of 1998. we were pleased to offer Seven Trees, a suite of poems by writer and coffee farmer Julia Alvarez and lithographs by Sara Eichner. Honored to be the first to print and publish these poems and prints, we combined them with fine Perpetua types and handmade papers of Czech descent. The seven delicate lithographs were drawn with tusche washes and printed on handmade Japanese papers from one imposing stone by Herb Fox at his shop in Merrimac, Massachusetts. This small folio, measuring 11.25 x 16 inches, was bound and boxed by David Bourbeau and Barbara B. Blumenthal. Sixty-five copies, of which fifty were offered for sale, save three deluxe copies accompanied by an original drawing, were covered in a richly stained, handmade flax paper. Alas, this title is out of print.
