Match in a Bottle. In 1997, we were pleased to offer our first book, Match in a Bottle. Tracey Knapp's poems about fire and its flame were printed from Centaur types (set by Michael and Winifred Bixler) on 8 x 11 inch leaves of Arches paper. Each poem faces one of more than eight hundred original drawings specially made for this edition by Kurt Gohde. The drawings were carried out with a variety of combustible and pyrotechnical media, including matches, cigarette lighters, gun powder, and kerosene lamps. Sixty-five copies, of which fifty were offered for sale, were bound by Winifred Bixler, save four deluxe copies handled by David Bourbeau and his Thistle Bindery. Alas, this title is out of print.
